Prof. Moshe Phillip recipient of the 2020 Andrea Prader Lifetime Achievement Prize for Teaching and Research
IAS Coordinator of the Distinguished Lectures in Medicine Prof. Moshe Phillip, was awarded the Andrea Prader Lifetime Achievement Prize for Teaching and Research by the European Society of Pediatric Endocrinology (ESPE)
Prof. Moshe Phillip, Coordinator of the Saul J. Farber Distinguished Lectures in Medicine, was awarded the 2020 Andrea Prader Lifetime Achievement Prize for Teaching and Research by the European Society of Pediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) for his outstanding contribution towards pediatric endocrinology. Prof. Phillip, M.D., is the Director of the Jesse and Sara Lea Shafer Institute of Endocrinology and Diabetes, the National Center for Juvenile Diabetes at Schneider Children's.
Prof. Phillip is a specialist in endocrinology and internal medicine and has headed the Institute of Endocrinology and Diabetes at Schneider Children's since 1997. Prominent among the team's many achievements is the Artificial Pancreas project aimed to provide a real solution to diabetics treated with insulin; the Advisor Pro project which developed decision-making support tools based upon artificial intelligence and online cloud services for the team treating diabetes for individual adaptation to improve the balance and quality of lives of children with diabetes via comprehensive management of their diabetes; the unique Growth Formula project which dramatically enhances height and weight in thin children with short stature (together with the Institute of Gastroenterology at Schneider). In addition to his broad clinical experience, Prof. Phillip serves as a lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University.
Prof. Phillip has written more than 400 articles, his papers have been widely published in professional literature, including the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine and Nature Medicine, Journal of Pediatrics. Prof. Phillip is regularly invited to lecture on growth, diabetes and nutrition at important conferences and medical centers in Israel and around the world.
