In addition to being a prestigious academic exchange program, the IAS Fulbright-TAU Senior Scholars Program is designed to expand and strengthen relationships between the people of the United States and the citizens of Israel, and to promote international understanding and cooperation.

The joint fellowship is awarded to senior faculty members from all academic fields to be carried out at TAU. Scholars will be invited for a period of 4 months. To support this mission, Fulbright Scholars will be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and otherwise engage with the host community, in addition to their primary activities‎.

The Mortimer and Raymond Sackler Institute of Advanced Studies - IAS - will be the official host of the fellow and the contact at the university, while the hosting academic unit is responsible for providing office and/or laboratory space.
